I’m tired of so called fashion experts giving fashion advice and shaming our bodies at the same time. The other day I was watching a local talk show discuss plus size fashion trends for Spring 2013 and every time the stylist gave “advice” for plus size women  I cringed.“ Slims the hip” ,”Makes you look smaller”, “The peplum gives you curves, but if you’ve got too much curves don’t wear it” , and my personal favourite, “ You’re legs have to be slender if you’re gonna wear these shoes otherwise they’ll look like a sausage”! Are you serious?

We all want to look our best, but how can you do a segment on plus size fashion and fat shame us at the same time? There are many fat women that can’t hide their stomachs or their hips. Does that mean that I can’t wear a peplum skirt or horizontal stripes?  If you listen to these so called “experts” and their rules the only thing you’ll be wearing is that dreaded mumu that’s stuck in the back of your closet.

I love that dress. Was just looking for clothes that would look good on me and that dress is amazing. I love the way it emphasizes your curves. The buttons lead up to your face and add a nice bit of contrast.
