EveryBODY has a story : Body Confidence Canada Awards 2014
On Tuesday September 9, 2014, the 2nd Annual Body Confidence Canada Awards (BCCAs) awarded 4 extraordinary women who do not buy into the idea of one body ideal.
Instead, our recipients actively strive to challenge so-called status quos through arts, fashion, business, and literature and are literally helping to reimagine diverse bodies that are living, taking up space, and breaking through boundaries. Our recipients are Body Confidence and inspire us to celebrate ours.
EveryBODY counts and has a story. Through the BCCAs we are hoping to share many of these with you annually on Sept 9~ Int’l day of beauty!
Throughout the evening we laughed and shed a few tears as each of the recipients gave moving speeches leaving the audience feeling empowered, enlightened, and connected. And we took our jackets off in spirit with the ever-talented Catherine McCormick, performer, writer & noted difficult woman with a stand-up comedy act that left us all in stitches!
This night would not have been possible without our generous sponsors The Canadian Women’s Foundation (BCCA Community Partner), Valida J Designs (BCCA Design Director), Horizons Magazine (BCCA Media Sponsor), Panorama (BCCA Venue Sponsor), Comfort Hotel (BCCA Official Hotel Sponsor), Stahls Canada (Printing Sponsor), and our generous gift sponsors Clearly Speaking, Primaala, Soft Lips, and Penningtons.
Join us next year September 9, 2015 as we celebrate body confidence, body positivity, and body diversity in Canada at the 3rd Annual Body Confidence Canada Awards (BCCAs)!
