How To Make Vintage Clothing Look Brand New
I have no problem wearing pieces I love over and over again.Whether I’m mixing designer with vintage or casual with fur if it’s a staple you’ll see me wearing it all the time. Case in point ; Last week I featured my go to yellow sheath dress on the blog. This week I’m back in my yellow dress and I’m showing you how to maximize your winter outfits by incorporating vintage/ thrifted jackets into your wardrobe.
Here are a few tips to help you make your favourite vintage/ thrifted coat brand new.
1. Change the buttons: Buttons can often make items look dated, for less than $10 you can update your look. For a minimalist look purchase buttons that are same colour as your garment.
2. Dry Cleaner: Don’t skimp on the dry cleaning, you’d be amazed how a good dry cleaning can bring an item to life. I once bought a jacket that I thought was cream, after I dry cleaned it I realized it was actually white.
3. Tailor: The tailor is your best friend, don’t be afraid to spend a few extra bucks on a great tailor. If you find an item that is to long don’t be afraid to have the tailor shorten your jacket. I do this for most of my clothing.
